Is cycling good for sciatica pain?

I've been suffering from sciatica pain that goes down my leg. I want to stay active but don't want to aggravate it. Is cycling a good form of exercise if you have sciatica?

Actually, cycling can sometimes aggravate sciatica because the sitting posture can pinch or stretch the sciatic nerve even more. If you are in the acute pain phase, it is better to avoid it. Stick to gentle walking and let the nerve inflammation settle down first.

In my years in this wellness community, I have seen many sciatica patients complain that cycling made their leg pain worse due to the forward bend. Regular nerve-flossing stretches and doctor-approved physiotherapy are much more reliable than cycling.

Honestly, cycling is usually not recommended for sciatica because the bending position can irritate the nerve. Better to focus on proper physiotherapy stretches instead.

Bhai, sciatica ka dard bahut bura hota hai, pair mein bilkul jaan nahi rehti. Mere khayal se cycle chalane ki galti mat karna, isse nass par dabav badh sakta hai. Aap aaram kijiye aur kisi acche doctor ko dikha lijiye.

Managing blood pressure and nerve pain requires a very balanced lifestyle. Sciatica pain shouldn't be ignored; during my annual checkups, my doctor specifically advised me against heavy cycling as it can compress the lower back discs. Please take medical advice.

I tried hot compresses and various oils for my sciatica pain, and they gave temporary relief, but cycling only made the shooting pain worse. From my experience, resting on a firm mattress and doing light pelvic tilts is much safer than cycling.
