Is cva same as stroke?

My uncle recently had a CVA, and the doctors explained what happened. My neighbour mentioned that his father had a 'stroke'. Are CVA and stroke the same thing, or are they different medical conditions?

Hey, don't stress too much looking up medical terms! Yes, CVA basically stands for Cerebrovascular Accident, which is just the medical term doctors use for a stroke. Just breathe, it's the same thing written in fancy doctor language.

To put it simply, CVA is indeed the clinical term for a stroke. However, because this relates to brain health and blood circulation, relying on online definitions isn't enough. It is always best to let a neurologist explain the specifics of a patient's diagnosis and treatment plan.

Yes, they are the same thing! CVA is just the official medical name for a stroke 🧠. Don't worry, doctors love using big words to describe simple terms, keeping positive is the best way forward! 👍

Yes, CVA and stroke mean the exact same medical event. Don't worry, it's just two different names for it.

As someone managing high blood pressure for ten years, I know these terms can be scary. CVA is indeed a stroke, and keeping your BP in check with regular doctor visits is very important to prevent these issues. Please monitor your health daily.

Correct, CVA is Cerebrovascular Accident, which is the scientific name for a stroke. Basically, blood flow to a part of the brain gets disrupted. No need to confuse yourself with different terms, they refer to the same condition.

They are the same, but please don't try to handle or understand this on your own. My family member had severe complications after a minor stroke because we delayed the follow-up. Please get a proper consultation with a specialist doctor right away.

Yes, CVA stands for stroke, but please remember this is a serious medical emergency. If you or anyone you know is showing symptoms like numbness, slurred speech, or confusion, don't waste time online and go to the nearest hospital immediately.

Yes, CVA and stroke are the same. In our older days, we didn't have these complex English names. While taking doctor's medicines is a must for this, keeping the patient calm and giving light, warm, easily digestible food at home also helps them recover slowly.

Oh, I didn't know they are the same. My grandfather's report mentions CVA, and we were quite confused. Does a CVA always mean it was a major stroke, or can it be a minor one too?

CVA is just the doctor's name for a stroke, beta. When my brother-in-law went through this, we realized no home remedies work for such emergency situations. You must follow the doctor's rehabilitation and medicine advice strictly.

I totally get it, seeing terms like CVA on medical papers can be so frightening when you don't know what they mean. Yes, it is the same as a stroke. I really hope you or your loved one are doing okay and getting the right care.
