Is croup contagious without fever?

My younger son had croup last week, and now my older son has a slight cough, but no fever. I'm wondering if he could still spread it. Is croup contagious even without a fever?

Haan na, croup is definitely contagious even without fever. It's caused by a common cold virus which spreads very easily through sneezing or coughing, ho na? Best to keep the child at home for a few days.

My niece has a very loud, barking cough today but no fever at all. Is this croup, and should we keep her away from other babies in the family? I am a bit worried as I haven't seen this before.

Yes, croup is viral and can spread easily. When my kid had it, I avoided taking him for our daily park walks so other children wouldn't catch it. It's best to stay indoors and let them rest.

My toddler had croup last week and passed it to his cousin without ever having a fever. Now both are barking like seals and I haven't slept in three days! Keep them isolated unless you want a house full of coughing kids.

Yes, it is still contagious! 🤒 Even without a fever, those tiny cough droplets can easily spread the cold virus. Best to give them lots of warm fluids and keep them home from school for a bit! 😊

Actually yes, it is contagious, yaar. The fever is just your body fighting the virus, but the virus itself is still in the saliva and cough. So it can easily spread to other toddlers.
