Is cranberry juice bad for kidney stones?

I had a kidney stone last year, and I'm trying to prevent them from coming back. I read somewhere that cranberry juice can actually be bad for kidney stones in some cases. Is cranberry juice something I should avoid if I'm prone to stones?

I had a 6mm kidney stone last year and my doctor told me to avoid cranberry juice. He said it contains oxalates which can actually help form certain types of stones. Just stick to plain water, bro.

I got so scared when I drank cranberry juice and then read online that it causes stones. But when I spoke to my doctor, she reassured me that having it occasionally is totally fine, it won't instantly cause a stone. Just don't overdo it.

I tried all kinds of juices when I had stones, and honestly, packaged cranberry juice is mostly just sugar which is not good. Fresh lemon water with no sugar is a much safer and cheaper home remedy to help flush them out.

It can be risky because of high oxalate levels. Since I have thyroid and have to monitor my diet closely, I always suggest getting a proper urine analysis done so your doctor can advise exactly what foods to avoid.

If you already have a history of calcium oxalate stones, yes, it can be bad for you. Don't waste time self-diagnosing. Get an ultrasound done and let your urologist give you a proper diet chart.
