Is cottage cheese ok for diabetics?

My doctor recently diagnosed me with pre-diabetes, and I'm trying to make better food choices. I enjoy cottage cheese as a snack. Is cottage cheese okay for diabetics, or should I limit it?

When I was diagnosed with borderline diabetes, I panicked and thought I couldn't eat paneer or cheese anymore. But my doctor reassured me that cottage cheese is actually excellent because of its low carb content. Now I eat it regularly and my blood sugar remains absolutely stable.

I was looking up low glycemic index foods for my father who has diabetes, and cottage cheese keeps popping up as a highly recommended option. It seems the high protein content helps slow down the digestion of other carbs. I might suggest he try it for breakfast instead of normal bread.

Look, paneer is absolutely safe for diabetics, so don't make a big deal out of it. Just ensure you are not buying the full-cream version if you also have high cholesterol. Eat it grilled or scrambled with veggies, and keep your physical activity going.

Since PCOS increases the risk of insulin resistance, I have to manage my sugar levels very carefully. Cottage cheese works well for me as a high-protein snack, but dairy can sometimes trigger inflammation in some people. I'd suggest trying a small amount first to see how your body responds.

I have been managing my Type 2 diabetes for 8 years and I closely monitor everything I eat. Cottage cheese is a regular part of my diet because it has a very low impact on my blood glucose. Just make sure to avoid processed brands that add hidden starches to thicken the cheese.
