Is cortisone cream good for eczema?

My child has developed some eczema patches on his skin and they are really itchy. My mother-in-law suggested using cortisone cream, but I want to know if it's safe and effective for eczema.

Steroid creams should be used with great care, my child. While they give quick relief from itching, they can weaken the skin. Using pure virgin coconut oil regularly helps keep the skin moist naturally, but do consult a doctor for severe patches.

It works fast for flare-ups, but you cannot use it long-term. My dermatologist advised me to use it only for 3-5 days to avoid skin thinning. Better to get a quick doctor's consult to get the right strength.

I went to a top dermatologist for my skin issues, and he clearly explained that cortisone should only be used as a short-term emergency solution. Never self-medicate with steroid creams; always ask your doctor for a safe application schedule.

Haan na, itchiness toh ekdum se kam ho jati hai isse. But doctor ke prescription bina mat use karna, skin sensitive ho sakti hai. Ghar pe chemical free soap aur moisturiser hi lagaya karo.

My son had severe eczema and cortisone cream was a lifesaver during bad nights when he couldn't sleep. But please be careful and only use the exact mild dose your pediatrician or dermatologist recommends.

Since thyroid and skin issues often go hand-in-hand, I have used cortisone creams for rashes. However, hormone-based creams should never be self-prescribed. Make sure to get a proper skin specialist's opinion before applying it.
