Is cornbread good for diabetics?

My mom was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and we are completely changing her eating habits. Is cornbread a good option for her breakfast or snacks?

My grandmother always said that traditional millet rotis are much better for health than any baked bread. Cornbread has a high glycemic index, so it is generally not considered good. It is always best to ask your diabetologist before making it a regular habit.

If you are looking for a superfood that cures diabetes, cornbread is definitely not the one! It is tasty, yes, but mostly full of quick carbs. Enjoy a tiny piece if you must, but don't call it 'healthy' diet food.

Haan, bilkul nahi! Cornbread is actually not very good for diabetes patients because of high starch content, na. Isse accha aap ragi ya jowar ki roti try karo, woh zyada safe aur healthy option hai.

Please do not take food choices lightly. I ignored my high sugar readings while eating heavy carb foods years ago, thinking a little bit won't hurt, and ended up with nerve complications. Get your fasting sugar checked regularly and strictly follow what your doctor says about bread.

I logged a slice of bakery cornbread in my fitness app last week, and the carb-to-fiber ratio was quite poor. It also had around 8 grams of sugar per serving. Definitely not ideal if you are trying to keep your glycemic curve flat.
