Is cold plunge good for arthritis?

I've been seeing these videos online about 'cold plunges' and people saying it helps with joint pain. I suffer from arthritis, so I'm wondering if taking a cold plunge could actually be beneficial for me.

Yes, it can reduce inflammation quite fast. Just make sure you don't stay in the cold water for more than 2-3 minutes initially.

I see this question a lot these days because of social media trends. Cold plunges do help some people with numbing the pain, but honestly, for seniors or those with severe arthritis, the sudden shock can cause muscle spasms. Start with just cold water mugs on the joint first before jumping into a tub.

Dude, cold plunge is the new big trend but it is actually so tough to do. I tried it once for my knee pain and honestly, my muscles just seized up because of the shock, yaar. I think normal warm water therapy is much safer for daily relief.

Our traditional ways always focus on warmth, like sesame oil massage, which is very safe. Extreme cold like these plunges can disturb the vata balance in the body. If you want to try it, just dip your feet first and see how your body reacts.

At my age, these modern cold plunges sound a bit too extreme, beta. I used to think cold water would freeze my joints forever, but a cool compress does help when the knees are swollen. Don't rush into these deep cold tubs without asking your doctor first.
