Is cold feet a symptom of diabetes?

My feet always feel cold, even in warm weather, and my father has diabetes. Someone mentioned that cold feet can be a symptom of diabetes. Should I be concerned?

I get cold feet all the time at night, but I always thought it was just because of the AC or my poor sleep habits. Honestly, it can be a sign of poor circulation which is linked to diabetes, but don't panic. I should probably get my own blood sugar checked instead of just wrapping myself in extra blankets!

Yes, chronic cold feet can sometimes indicate diabetic neuropathy or poor blood circulation in the limbs. I always tell people in this forum not to ignore foot symptoms if they have a family history of diabetes. It is highly recommended to get a simple fasting blood sugar test done to be absolutely sure.

Oh, I panicked so much last winter when my feet were constantly freezing, and I was convinced I had developed diabetes. I ran to the lab for an HbA1c test and it came out completely normal; it was just mild seasonal circulation issues. Definitely get tested to ease your mind, but don't assume the worst right away.

Between meetings, I don't have time to worry about every small symptom, but cold feet combined with numbness is something you shouldn't ignore. It can be a diabetic symptom due to nerve damage. Just book an annual health package online, get your blood tested, and show the reports to a doctor to save time.

I used to massage my warm sesame oil on my feet when they got cold, which helped with blood circulation. But if the coldness is persistent and accompanied by numbness or tingling, home remedies won't solve the root cause. Please get a proper diabetic screening from a clinic first.

In my seventy years, I have seen many family members handle diabetes. Cold feet can indeed be due to nerve issues caused by high sugar, but it can also just be a normal part of getting older or thyroid issues. Don't worry too much, just visit your family doctor for a routine checkup and they will guide you correctly.
