Is cod liver oil good for your skin?

My skin has been really dry and dull lately, and I'm looking for natural remedies. A friend suggested cod liver oil for good skin. Is cod liver oil actually good for your skin?

Cod liver oil is highly beneficial for skin because of its high concentration of Vitamin A and omega-3 fatty acids, which help maintain skin hydration and reduce inflammation. However, my dermatologist emphasized that excessive intake can lead to dry, peeling skin due to vitamin toxicity. Always get your dosage tailored to your body's needs.

Please consult a doctor before starting this for your skin. I took cod liver capsules hoping to cure my dry skin, but the high dose of Vitamin A clashed with my other medications and caused severe breakouts and stomach upset. It's much safer to get a dermatologist's opinion first.

Yes, it is supposed to give you that Bollywood glow! But just remember, you have to swallow the capsule, please don't pop it and rub the smelly fish oil directly on your face unless you want your cats to follow you around all day, haha!

As a diabetic, I have to be very careful with any supplements. Cod liver oil can help with dry skin issues, which is common for us, but you must ensure it does not interfere with your other health parameters. Always check with your diabetologist before adding it to your routine.

Dealing with PCOS acne is so frustrating, and I know how tempting it is to try every supplement. Cod liver oil's anti-inflammatory properties can help, but since hormonal balance is so delicate, it's best not to self-diagnose. Talk to your gynecologist or skin doctor first to see if it fits your treatment plan.

If you are vegetarian like me, cod liver oil is obviously not an option. For skin health, you can get amazing results by including flaxseeds, walnuts, and chia seeds in your daily diet. They give you great plant-based omega-3s without any non-veg supplements.
