Is coconut oil good for psoriasis?

I have psoriasis on my elbows and knees, and it gets really dry and itchy. I've heard some people say coconut oil can help calm the skin. Is coconut oil good for psoriasis, or should I stick to my prescribed creams?

Hey, I have mild psoriasis on my scalp and coconut oil has been a lifesaver for softening those tough plaques before shampooing. It doesn't cure it, but it definitely stops the crazy itching and scaling. Just massage it gently and let it sit for a bit.

Keeping skin hydrated with coconut oil is great, but psoriasis is an autoimmune issue linked to systemic inflammation. I find that regular exercise like brisk walking helps manage my stress levels, which in turn reduces my flare-ups. Keep moving and stay active!

I tried using extra virgin coconut oil on my psoriasis patches, but it made the redness look even brighter and felt a bit itchy. Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just my sensitive skin reacting badly? I'm scared to use it now.

In our family, we traditionally use coconut oil with a bit of neem for all skin scaling issues, as it is very cooling. It works well to keep the skin soft, but psoriasis is a complex condition. I always suggest following your dermatologist's medical prescriptions alongside this.

I have high blood pressure and have to manage my stress because it triggers both my BP and skin scaling. Coconut oil is decent for external dryness, but lifestyle management is key. Keep your medical checkups regular and monitor your overall health.

I totally get it, living with psoriasis can be so physically uncomfortable and emotionally draining when you have visible patches. Coconut oil is a very gentle, safe way to keep the dry skin moisturized without harsh chemicals. I hope you find some comforting relief soon.

Medicated creams for psoriasis can get very expensive over time. Pure coconut oil is a highly budget-friendly option to manage the daily dryness and scaling of plaques. Save your money for important specialist consultations and blood tests instead of buying overpriced cosmetic creams.

I deal with thyroid issues and know how dry skin can worsen autoimmune conditions like psoriasis. Coconut oil is highly moisturizing, but you should also get regular blood tests to check for any underlying thyroid or immune imbalances. Always keep your doctor in the loop.
