Is coconut oil good for eczema?

My daughter has eczema, and her skin gets very dry and itchy. Someone suggested applying coconut oil to soothe it. Is coconut oil good for eczema, and is it safe for a child's sensitive skin?

I have eczema on my elbows and honestly, virgin coconut oil works great as a moisturizer. It keeps the skin from cracking and stops the itching for a few hours. Just make sure to buy the pure, unrefined one so it doesn't irritate your skin.

Eczema flares are so unpredictable and I always worry about trying new things on my sensitive skin. I read that coconut oil has antibacterial properties, but what if it triggers an allergic reaction? Maybe do a tiny patch test on your arm first to be absolutely sure it doesn't cause a rash.

Yes, virgin coconut oil is excellent for keeping eczema-prone skin hydrated and preventing infection due to its natural properties.

Don't worry too much! I panicked when my child developed dry, red eczema spots and thought it was a major infection. Our pediatrician told us to just use pure virgin coconut oil right after a bath to lock in the moisture, and it naturally got much better in a few weeks.

Beta, humare ghar mein toh khujli aur khushki ke liye hamesha nariyal tel hi lagate hain. Yeh bilkul thanda aur sasta nuskha hai. Par dhyan rahe ki tel saf suthra ho, aur agar aaram na mile toh daktar babu ko dikha lena.

I applied coconut oil on my eczema patches last week and it actually made the redness worse and felt quite hot. Did this happen to anyone else, or am I doing something wrong? I'm wondering if I should switch to a gentle medical cream instead.
