Is clove bad for thyroid?

My mother always tells me to use cloves for everything, but I have a thyroid problem. Can eating cloves regularly affect my thyroid function? Should I avoid it?

I've not heard anything specific about clove being bad for thyroid. Generally, small amounts used in cooking should be fine. If you're unsure, it's always good to check with your doctor.

As someone very conscious about diet and its effects, I'd say most spices in moderation are generally okay. For thyroid, it's usually about iodine balance. Clove isn't typically highlighted as problematic, but if you have a condition, always run it by your endocrinologist.

In our household, we use cloves for many things, especially for flavour. My grandmother always said natural things are good, but for specific conditions like thyroid, it's best not to guess. Your doctor will know what's truly safe for you.

I have hypothyroidism myself, and I've never been told to avoid cloves specifically. However, everyone's body is different. The most important thing is regular blood tests and following your endocrinologist's advice on medication and overall diet. Don't stop your meds or change diet without consulting them.

No, generally cloves are not considered bad for thyroid. Used in normal culinary amounts, it shouldn't be an issue. If you're consuming it in large, medicinal quantities or have specific concerns, then a doctor's consultation is essential. Stick to facts, not WhatsApp forwards.

Yaar, actually, I haven't heard anything specific about cloves being bad for thyroid. We use it in so many dishes. Mostly, it's about moderation, no? But if you're taking thyroid meds, it's always smart to ask your doc. Better safe than sorry, na?

It's best not to make assumptions about food and existing health conditions. While cloves are a common spice, if you have a thyroid problem, any dietary change or concern should be discussed with your doctor or a registered dietitian. Get it checked for safety.

My child has a thyroid condition, and we're always very careful about food. Our doctor never mentioned cloves as something to avoid. In fact, many spices have health benefits. But to be safe, if you have a thyroid condition, just ask your doctor directly. They give the best guidance.

I totally get it, you want to be super careful when you have a thyroid issue and question everything you eat. As far as I know, cloves in normal food amounts aren't generally a concern for thyroid. But since each body is unique, a quick chat with your endocrinologist would really put your mind at ease.

Honestly, I use cloves in my chai every day and my thyroid levels are fine, as per my last check-up. But I don't have any major thyroid issues. If you do, it's always safer to just ask your doctor straight up. Don't trust random internet stuff for serious health topics.
