Is claritin bad for your liver?

My doctor prescribed Claritin for my allergies, which get really bad this season. I've heard some meds can affect the liver, and I want to be careful since my uncle had liver issues. Is Claritin okay for the liver?

My son used to take Claritin for his allergies, and his pediatrician never mentioned any liver issues. But every body is different, so if you're worried, best to ask your doctor directly. They might suggest a blood test to be sure.

Oh, really? I didn't know medicines could impact the liver like that. Is it a common side effect for many allergy medicines, or just specific ones? Hope you get clarity soon.

I totally get it, worrying about medication side effects can be stressful. My doctor always says if you're on any long-term meds, it's wise to get regular check-ups, especially for liver function. Don't hesitate to consult your GP!

Beta, when we were younger, these things were not so common to hear about. But now with so many medicines, it's good you are thinking about this. For any medicine, especially if you take it regularly, it is always best to speak with your family doctor. Don't worry too much, just get proper advice.
