Is chillies good for diabetics?

My blood sugar levels have been a bit high lately, and I'm trying to be more careful with my diet. I love spicy food and usually add chillies to almost everything. Are chillies good for diabetics, or should I cut down on them?

Oh, I've wondered this too! I get so anxious about food choices for my parents. I heard chili can help with blood sugar, but is there a limit? Has anyone felt any side effects from eating too much chili with diabetes?

Hey! My granddad has diabetes and he eats chili sometimes, but not like a lot. I think it's okay in moderation. It adds flavor without sugar, so that's a plus, right? Don't go overboard though, you know.

Yes, capsaicin in chilies can help with glucose metabolism, so it's generally considered good in moderate amounts for diabetics. It also adds flavor without extra sugar. Just ensure it doesn't cause digestive issues for you.

Please, don't just rely on internet advice for something like diabetes. I once ignored a few symptoms and it became worse. While chili might have some benefits, your doctor is the best person to tell you what's safe for YOUR specific condition. Get a proper checkup and ask them directly.

I always worry about every little thing I eat affecting my blood sugar readings. I've read that chili might have benefits, like improving insulin sensitivity, but then I think, what if it causes heartburn and then that affects my sleep and my sugar? So confusing! But yes, a little bit shouldn't be a big problem, I think.
