Is chia seeds bad for kidney stones?

I had a kidney stone last year, and it was very painful. Now I'm trying to avoid anything that could cause another one. I like chia seeds, but I'm worried if they are bad for kidney stones. Should I stop eating them?

I track all my food intake, and most health apps actually list chia seeds as beneficial, even for kidney health, as long as you're well-hydrated. However, for kidney stones specifically, which can involve certain mineral restrictions, it's best to check with a nephrologist. General advice doesn't always apply to specific conditions.

This makes me so anxious! I've been trying to eat healthier, and chia seeds were on my list. But now reading about kidney stones, I'm worried. Has anyone here with a history of kidney stones been advised specifically *against* chia seeds by their doctor?

Haha, no, your kidneys won't suddenly start building tiny chia-seed structures! 😂 Chia seeds are actually pretty healthy. But seriously, if you're prone to kidney stones, your doctor will give you specific dietary advice, because some healthy foods might not be ideal for certain stone types. So, better safe than sorry, ask the doc!

Oh, this is an interesting angle! I've been looking into chia seeds for general health, but never thought about kidney stones. It makes sense though, considering how important diet is for stone prevention. This definitely makes me think twice about what I consume without fully knowing.

In the fitness community, chia seeds are used a lot for fiber and nutrients. They generally support good hydration if you drink enough water with them. For kidney stones, however, diet can be very specific depending on the stone type. So while they're good for general health, it's a medical question for kidney stone sufferers.

As a diabetic, I'm already cautious about my diet and how it affects my body. While chia seeds are usually good, if you have a history of kidney stones, you need to be very careful. Different types of stones require different dietary restrictions. Don't risk it, consult your doctor to understand your specific stone composition.

My father had kidney stones, and we were very particular about his diet as advised by his doctor at Max Hospital. Chia seeds, like many healthy foods, might have compounds that need to be limited depending on the type of kidney stone. So, please ask your urologist or a renal dietitian specifically about this. Don't self-diagnose.
