Is cardiac arrest and heart attack the same thing?

There was a show on TV discussing heart health, and they talked about cardiac arrest and heart attack. I got a bit confused, as they sounded similar. Are cardiac arrest and a heart attack actually the same thing, or is there a distinction?

No dear, they are quite different. A heart attack is when blood flow to the heart is blocked, but cardiac arrest is when the heart suddenly stops beating completely. Both are dangerous, so please seek emergency help if someone collapses.

Since I have high BP, my doctor made it clear that these are different. A heart attack is a circulation block, and cardiac arrest is an electrical fault. Regular blood pressure checkups help prevent these severe complications.

No, they are medically distinct. A heart attack occurs due to arterial blockage, whereas cardiac arrest is due to sudden electrical malfunction of the heart. For proper risk assessment, a cardiologist's consultation is highly recommended.

They sound similar but they are different! Think of a heart attack as a blocked pipe and cardiac arrest as a power cut. Keep your heart healthy and don't worry too much!

They are different conditions. While daily deep breathing and yoga keep our heart muscles and nervous system calm, we must understand that acute chest pain or sudden collapse requires immediate modern medical treatment.

Beta, they are different diseases of the heart. Do not try any home remedies if someone has severe chest pain, left arm pain, or heavy sweating. Take them to a doctor immediately as every second is precious.

Nah bro, they aren't the same. Heart attack is like a plumbing block, and cardiac arrest is when the heart's battery suddenly dies. My biology prof explained this last week.
