Is cancer of the blood leukemia?

My friend's younger brother was diagnosed with leukemia, and she explained it's a type of blood cancer. This made me think. Is cancer of the blood the same thing as leukemia, or are there other types too?

My cousin was diagnosed with leukemia, and that's when our family learned it is a type of blood cancer. He went through chemotherapy and is doing much better now, but we always consulted the oncologists for all medical details.

Leukemia is indeed a primary type of blood cancer, though there are other types like lymphoma too. Since health issues can be complicated, it's always safest to speak directly with a doctor to understand the details properly.

Yes, I was just reading about this on a health portal. Leukemia is basically cancer of the white blood cells, which is why people refer to it commonly as blood cancer.

Yes, leukemia is blood cancer, but don't go reading random articles or trying herbal cures online if you suspect something. Blood disorders are extremely complex and you must get a proper CBC test and consult a hematologist.

Having dealt with this in my immediate family, I can confirm leukemia is blood cancer that starts in the bone marrow. The best tip I can give is to get a second opinion from a top hemat-oncologist and focus heavily on hygiene to prevent infections during treatment.
