No, cancer is not an infectious disease, you cannot catch it from another person. Just like I do regular thyroid tests to stay on top of my health, it is always a good practice to do routine checkups and consult your doctor for any health worries.
From what I have slowly learned, it is not an infectious disease. But does that mean lifestyle is the only reason people get it, or are there other factors too? If anyone knows, please share.
I used to get so paranoid that cancer might spread like a common virus, but after talking to a general physician, I realized how wrong I was. It is completely safe to be around cancer patients; it is absolutely non-infectious.
As someone who recently finished my cancer treatments, I can tell you my family lived with me and cared for me throughout without any issues. Cancer is not infectious at all. Don't let anyone make you feel isolated during your recovery.
I was just reading about this last week out of curiosity. Cancer definitely doesn't fall under infectious diseases because it doesn't spread through air, water, or physical contact. It's strictly an internal cellular issue.
I always overthink and worry about catching diseases from public places, but cancer is definitely not something you can catch from others. It is not infectious, so please don't let anxiety get the better of you on this topic.
My family doctor explained that cancer is a non-communicable disease caused by mutations in our own cells, not by pathogens. However, certain infectious agents like the H. pylori bacteria or Hepatitis viruses can increase the risk of developing certain cancers, but the cancer itself is not transmissible.
