Is camote good for diabetic?

My father has diabetes, and we are constantly looking for foods that are good for him. Someone told me camote is good for diabetics. Is this true, can he eat it safely?

Sweet potato or camote has a lower glycemic index than regular white potatoes, so it is a better option. But portion control is everything here. You can have a small boiled piece occasionally, but do check your post-meal sugar levels to see how your body reacts.

Honestly, do not experiment based on online articles. I ignored my high fasting sugar levels for a year thinking natural food changes would fix it and regretted it badly when my health crashed. Pls get your HbA1c checked first and ask your doctor if camote or sweet potato fits into your specific meal plan.

I manage my diabetes very strictly and I usually avoid sweet potato because it still has quite a bit of carbs. If you really want to eat it, have it in very small quantities and pair it with some high-fiber veggies or protein to avoid a sudden sugar spike. Always test your blood glucose after eating to be absolutely sure.

Everything in moderation is fine for the body. Camote is a natural whole food from Mother Earth, so it is definitely healthier than processed sugars, but eat it mindfully. Stay happy, keep your stress levels low, and consult your health specialist for proper guidance.

Camote is sweet potato, and it is actually a great complex carb source. But if you have diabetes, timing is key. Try eating it in a small portion after a good workout session when your insulin sensitivity is higher, and keep an eye on your overall daily carb intake.
