Is calamine lotion good for psoriasis?

I've had psoriasis for years, and it's always a struggle to manage the itchy, flaky skin. A friend mentioned that calamine lotion might help. Is calamine lotion good for psoriasis, or is it only for chickenpox?

I was just diagnosed with psoriasis and my skin is so red and itchy. Is calamine lotion safe to use for a temporary cooling effect, or will it make the scaling worse? I am really scared of trying new products right now.

Don't worry, we will figure this out together. Calamine can actually dry out psoriasis plaques and make them crack, which is quite painful. Stick to a thick, doctor-approved moisturizing ointment for now and keep your skin protected.

Living with psoriasis is emotionally exhausting, especially when people stare at your red patches. I used to apply anything out of desperation, including calamine, which only irritated my skin more. Please be gentle with yourself, you are doing great.

Honestly, after scratching my elbows all night, calamine is the last thing I would use. It dries up like chalk and leaves white powder everywhere without actually curing the itch. Skip it and get a proper medical ointment instead!

Instead of relying on external lotions like calamine, focus on a clean anti-inflammatory diet and regular sweat sessions. Staying fit and drinking plenty of water really helps control psoriasis flare-ups from inside.

When managing high BP and skin issues like psoriasis, lifestyle management is key. Calamine doesn't help with the systemic inflammation of psoriasis. Regular checkups and proper prescribed medication are much safer.

My scalp psoriasis has been itching so badly today and I was thinking of applying calamine. Did anyone else try this? I am so scared that it might trigger a bigger flare-up and make me lose hair.
