Is cacao powder good for diabetics?

My doctor said I should try to reduce sugar in my diet since I'm pre-diabetic. I like making smoothies and was thinking of adding cacao powder. Is cacao powder good for diabetics, or will it just add to the problem?

I totally get it, dealing with diabetes means constantly sacrificing your favorite treats. Unsweetened cacao powder is actually a lifesaver because you can get that rich chocolate taste without any sugar spikes. It even has antioxidants that help with insulin.

I make a simple, healthy sugar-free drink for my diabetic husband by mixing a teaspoon of organic cacao powder in warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg. It is a wonderful home remedy that relaxes him and keeps his blood sugar completely stable.

Yes, pure cacao powder is excellent for diabetics because it is low in sugar and high in beneficial antioxidants.

I worry so much about food labels because some brands sneakily mix sugar into their cacao powder. Please be extremely careful and double-check the ingredient list. It is very supportive for health, but only if it is 100% pure.

I used to panic thinking even a spoon of cacao powder would spike my blood sugar and ruin my progress. But after testing my glucose levels before and after having it, I found out it has absolutely zero impact. It is completely safe.

I consulted my endocrinologist at Fortis about using cacao powder. She said pure, unsweetened cacao is highly beneficial for blood flow, but warned me to ask my dietitian about the exact portions to avoid extra calories.

My teenage son has Type 1 diabetes and he desperately misses chocolate. Unsweetened cacao powder has been amazing for us; I use it to make him sugar-free almond milk shakes using stevia. It gives him the chocolate flavor safely without throwing off his insulin doses.

At 55, my doctor banned milk chocolate, but allowed pure cacao powder. It is bitter as medicine, but hey, at least I can pretend I am enjoying chocolate while my blood sugar levels stay perfectly normal.

I agree, cacao powder is great. Just make sure the packaging says '100% unsweetened' and not 'cocoa mix'.
