Is bronchitis asthma?

I've been having a persistent cough and shortness of breath for a while now. My mother thinks it's just a prolonged cold, but my friend mentioned it could be bronchitis or even asthma. Are these two conditions related or the same?

No yaar, actually they are quite different. Bronchitis is mostly a temporary infection of your lung tubes, while asthma is a chronic, long-term allergic condition. Don't confuse the two, better check with a doctor.

They are different conditions altogether. Once your doctor helps clear up the bronchitis infection, regular deep breathing exercises and daily walking can really help strengthen your lung capacity.

I ignored my bronchitis thinking it was just my regular asthma, and it turned into severe pneumonia. Please don't make the same mistake. Go see a doctor and get your chest checked immediately.

I was researching this yesterday because of my bad cough. Bronchitis is inflammation caused by a virus or irritants, but asthma is a chronic airway tightening. The symptoms look similar but they need different treatments.

My mother used to tell me that any chest congestion needs steam with tulsi leaves, but my doctor explained that bronchitis is an acute infection while asthma is chronic. I suggest consulting a pulmonologist to get the right treatment.

They are different. For temporary bronchitis, warm ginger honey water can give great relief, but if you have asthma, you need proper inhalers. If you feel severe breathlessness, please go to the hospital immediately.

In my fifty years, I've seen many family members get confused. Bronchitis passes away in a few weeks, but asthma stays and needs regular care. Don't worry, with modern medicines, both are very easily manageable.

No, child, bronchitis is a temporary congestion of the chest, while asthma is a lifelong breathing issue. Warm turmeric milk and steam inhalation can help ease bronchitis phlegm, but you must consult a doctor for a proper checkup.
