Is broccoli good for thyroid?

I've been diagnosed with a thyroid condition, and I'm very conscious about my diet now. I love eating broccoli, but I heard some conflicting information about it and thyroid health. Is broccoli generally good for the thyroid?

Raw broccoli contains goitrogens which can interfere with thyroid hormone synthesis if eaten in huge amounts. But if you steam or cook it properly, those compounds are mostly deactivated. Just don't eat it raw in juices and you are perfectly fine.

For thyroid issues, our body needs a balance of cooked foods that are easy to digest. Raw broccoli can strain the system, so always cook it with a pinch of ginger and cumin. Combine this with daily Ujjayi pranayama for the best results.

I had high TSH levels last year and panicked about eating broccoli because of Google. My doctor told me cooked broccoli is absolutely fine in moderation. I started eating it steamed twice a week and my thyroid levels are completely normal now with my regular medicine.

Every day there is a new rule for thyroid! One day broccoli is a superfood, next day it is bad for your throat. I just cook it nicely, eat a small portion, and let my morning thyroid tablet do the heavy lifting.

It is safe to eat as long as you cook it well. Please don't worry too much about small dietary rules, just take your prescribed medicine on time.
