Is bp high when having a heart attack?

My father has high BP and we're always worried about heart problems. So, if someone is having a heart attack, does their blood pressure shoot up? Or is it something else?

BP during a heart attack is like my mood swings—totally unpredictable! It can go sky-high or sink like a stone. So don't play doctor with a BP machine at home if someone is feeling really sick. Just grab your keys and head straight to a clinic.

Actually it depends on the person yaar. In some cases, BP shoots up like crazy because of the intense pain and panic, but in others, it can drop dangerously low because the heart muscle is struggling. You can't rely on BP alone to tell. If there is any major chest discomfort, just rush to a hospital.

While a low-sodium diet and healthy lifestyle help prevent blockages, blood pressure can fluctuate during a sudden attack. It can go high or low depending on the severity. Please don't try to treat any sudden chest pain with home remedies or herbal teas, seek emergency medical care immediately.

I was just reading about this last week because my dad has hypertension. It turns out BP can actually go either way—sometimes it spikes due to the body's stress response, and sometimes it drops. It's scary how variable it is, which is why a doctor's evaluation is always needed.

No, it is not always high. BP can drop significantly if the heart's pumping capacity is compromised during the attack. Checking BP is not a reliable way to confirm or rule out a heart attack. If you suspect one, get an ECG done at an emergency room immediately.

The body reacts in mysterious ways under stress, and during such times, blood pressure can rise high or fall. Keep faith, stay calm, and always seek immediate medical help instead of worrying. Taking timely care of our physical body is a blessing. Bless you.
