Is bitter gourd good for diabetes?

My father has diabetes and he eats karela sabzi almost every day. He says it helps control his sugar. Is bitter gourd really that good for managing diabetes?

I've heard people swear by bitter gourd for diabetes. While it might have some benefits, don't ignore proper medical treatment and doctor's advice. I made that mistake once with a different condition, thinking home remedies were enough. For something like diabetes, always consult your doctor and use bitter gourd only as a supplementary measure, not a replacement for medication.

Beta, hamare ghar mein toh saalon se karela diabetes ke liye dete hain. Nani dadi sab bolte the khoon saaf karta hai aur sugar kam karta hai. Juice bana ke dete hain subah-subah. Lekin haan, doctor ki dawai toh leni hi padti hai. Yeh bas sehat ke liye accha hai, dawa ka badlaav nahi.

While bitter gourd has traditional uses, relying solely on it for diabetes management can be risky and lead to complications. I've seen situations where people delayed proper medical care due to over-reliance on natural remedies. Diabetes needs careful monitoring and prescribed medication. Use bitter gourd only after discussing it with your endocrinologist, and never replace your medicines with it.

Is bitter gourd good for diabetes? I don't know, but after a night of no sleep, even a cup of chai tastes bitter! 😂 But seriously, everyone says karela is good for blood sugar. Just make sure you're also seeing a real doctor, because bitter gourd alone won't solve everything, especially if you're like me and need actual sleep to function.

Bitter gourd for diabetes, huh? It's like the healthy, bitter medicine you *know* is good for you but don't quite *love* like a good gulab jamun! 😉 Jokes aside, yes, it's traditionally believed to help with blood sugar. But it's more of a supportive food, not a cure. Always pair it with your doc's advice and proper diet, not just a glass of karela juice!
