Is barley good for diabetics?

My mother has diabetes, and we are trying to find healthy grains for her diet. Someone suggested barley. Can anyone tell me if barley is good for diabetics, and how can we include it in her meals?

Haan behen, jau (barley) toh bahut accha hota hai. Hamare yahan toh sab bolte hain ki sugar ke mareezon ko iska pani ya roti khani chahiye. Pet bhi bharta hai aur sehat ke liye bhi faydemand hai. Par zyada nahi, thoda thoda.

Diabetes makes every meal a challenge, and it's frustrating to figure out what's safe. But I can tell you, barley is usually a good choice. It helped me manage my sugar spikes better. The fiber really makes a difference. It's a relief to find foods that are genuinely helpful.

Barley is indeed recognized for its benefits in managing blood sugar due to its high fiber and low glycemic index. It can be a healthy addition to a diabetic's diet. However, individual dietary needs vary, so it's always prudent to discuss specific food inclusions with your doctor or a registered dietitian for personalized advice.

Yes, generally barley is considered very good for diabetics! It's a whole grain with a low glycemic index and high fiber content, especially beta-glucan. This helps slow down glucose absorption, which means better blood sugar control. You can use it in soups, salads, or even make rotis with its flour. Just ensure portion control.

Dealing with diabetes and constantly worrying about what to eat is really tough. I felt so much anxiety about food for a long time. But for barley, most doctors and dietitians actually recommend it because of its fiber. It helps keep blood sugar steady, which is a huge relief.

Ho na, jau (barley) toh bahut accha hai sugar ke liye. Mere doctor ne bhi bola tha ki isko apni diet mein shamil karo. Fiber hota hai isme jo blood sugar control karne mein help karta hai. Par thoda quantity ka dhyaan rakhna padta hai.

For my son, we try to incorporate complex carbs, and barley has been a good option. His pediatrician suggested it for its low glycemic index. We make barley water or add it to his upma. It's much better than refined grains for managing his sugar levels, just keep portions in check.
