Is banana fruit good for diabetic patient?

My father is diabetic, and we are always looking for fruits that he can eat without worrying too much. Bananas are quite popular in our house. Is banana fruit good for a diabetic patient, or does it spike sugar too much?

Diabetic patients need to be very careful with fruits because of their sugar content. While bananas have good nutrients, it's best to consult a doctor or a dietitian about portion sizes and ripeness. Don't just assume it's okay.

It depends on the individual and their sugar levels. Some can have a small one, some can't. Always good to check with your doctor.

My husband has had diabetes for years. The doctor said a small, slightly unripe banana can be okay sometimes, but definitely not a very ripe one, which has more sugar. It's all about moderation and what suits your body.

Uff, diabetes is a tricky one. One day they say 'eat this', next day 'don't eat this'. My doctor told me banana has sugar, so for diabetics, it's like a sweet treat, not a regular fruit. Maybe a small one, very rarely. Or just avoid the headache!

As someone who has managed diabetes for over a decade, I can tell you that a small, firm (not overripe) banana can be included in your diet. The key is portion size and pairing it with a protein source. Always check your sugar levels after trying new foods to see how your body reacts.

Banana good for diabetic? My brain is too sleep-deprived to remember all these diet rules. I just know ripe bananas are sweet. Probably best to ask a doc or someone who actually knows their stuff, not me! 😂

So, my dietician told my uncle with diabetes that a small, not-too-ripe banana can be okay, but it has to be paired with protein or healthy fats, like a handful of nuts, to slow down sugar absorption. And portion control is super important!

For diabetics, every food needs careful consideration. Bananas do have natural sugars. I manage my BP with diet, and for my diabetic relatives, they always monitor their sugar after eating fruits. Best to check your levels and consult a doctor.

I was just wondering this too! My grandma has diabetes, and she loves bananas. I always tell her to be careful, but I'm not sure what the official advice is. Is there a certain amount that's safe?

Our elders always say fruits are good, but for diabetes, it is different. My doctor specifically told my aunt to limit bananas because of the sugar. A very small one, not too ripe, and only occasionally. It is best to follow what your doctor advises for your specific condition.
