Honestly, I'm too tired to even chew sometimes, but avocado toast is actually a savior for sugar spikes. Just make sure you're using whole grain bread and not some fancy white bread, or you'll be sleeping through your sugar crash later.
I always get so anxious about carbs in bread when making toast for my diabetic mother. But adding avocado on top really helps because the healthy fats and fiber slow down glucose absorption. Just use multi-grain bread to be completely safe!
After a year of struggling with high fasting glucose, I switched to avocado toast on sourdough bread for breakfast. My post-meal readings have been excellent ever since. It's a fantastic, real solution that keeps your sugar perfectly level.
Avocado toast is good, but avocados can be quite expensive. Since we also have to budget for regular glucose strips and HbA1c tests, I only use half an avocado and buy whole wheat bread from local bakeries to keep it practical and affordable.
I totally get it, finding a breakfast that doesn't spike your sugar and still tastes amazing is so hard. Avocado toast is a wonderful option because it's both satisfying and diabetes-friendly. It really makes managing the condition feel a little easier.
I am newly diagnosed and trying to understand what is safe to eat. Everyone says avocado toast is great, but is there a specific type of bread I should use? I'm really afraid of eating the wrong thing.
