Is autism a mental health illness?

I have a friend whose child was recently diagnosed with autism, and she's trying to learn more about it. She asked me if it's considered a mental health illness. Can someone clarify if autism falls under the category of a mental health illness?

Nahi, autism is not a mental illness. It is a developmental condition, ho na. Unka brain alag tarike se process karta hai details ko. Hamein bas thoda patient hona padta hai unke saath.

Nahi bhai, ye koi mansik bimari nahi hai. Bachhe ka dimaag thoda alag tarike se seekhta hai aur badhta hai. Isme darna nahi chahiye, bas unhe acche se samajhna chahiye aur zaroorat pade toh acche doctor se milna chahiye.

I completely understand why you are looking this up, searching for these terms online can make anyone super anxious. Rest assured, autism is actually a developmental condition, not an illness. Take a deep breath, it is going to be okay.

Listen, don't stress too much about these heavy internet words! Autism is just a developmental difference, not some mental disease or illness. Just take things one day at a time and support them with patience.

Hey, it is not an illness at all. It's a neurological condition where the brain works differently. My colleague's son is autistic, and with regular speech and behavior therapy, he is doing so well in school. Focus on support, not the label!
