Is asthma infectious?

My little one sometimes has breathing trouble, especially when she plays a lot. My MIL was saying that it could be asthma, and I'm worried if it's something she can catch from other kids at school.

Not at all! You can share a plate of delicious hot momos with an asthmatic friend without any worry. It's just a lung sensitivity, not something you can catch like a cold.

Nahi beta, yeh koi phailne wali bimari nahi hai. Chhua-chhoot se iska koi lena-dena nahi hota. Yeh toh bas andar ki saans ki naliyon ki kamzori ya allergy hoti hai.

Asthma is definitely not infectious. It's just a chronic inflammation of the airways, so you can safely jog or work out next to someone who has it. Staying active is actually great for lung health if your doctor permits.

No, asthma is not infectious. Much like managing my blood pressure, it's a chronic condition that depends on your own lifestyle and keeping up with regular doctor appointments.

No, asthma is absolutely not infectious. You cannot catch it from someone else or pass it on by contact.

Humare ghar mein bahu ko asthma hai par baki koi isse beemar nahi hota. Yeh koi chhoot ki bimar nahi hai. Haan, unhe dhool-mitti se bachane ke liye hum ghar saaf rakhte hain aur garam pani peene ko dete hain.

My grandmother used to worry about this, but our family doctor clearly explained that asthma is not contagious. It’s an internal allergic response, so there is absolutely no need to keep distance from family members who have it.
