Is asthma dangerous disease?

My cousin's asthma attacks sometimes look very severe and scare everyone. I'm worried about him. Is asthma considered a dangerous disease?

It is only dangerous if you ignore your symptoms and stop taking your inhalers. Otherwise, it is highly manageable.

It can become dangerous if ignored, but with proper care, it is very manageable. Doing gentle pranayama like Anulom Vilom daily has helped me strengthen my lung capacity immensely, though you must still use your inhalers as directed by your doctor.

It can be dangerous during cold weather or if there is too much dust. Drinking warm water with ginger helps soothe my chest, but if you have a severe attack where you can't breathe, please go to a hospital immediately.

I had a scary episode last month where I couldn't catch my breath, so yes, it can get dangerous. But once my doctor set the right daily dosage of my preventer inhaler, I have felt completely safe and fine.

I was researching this and found that while mild asthma is mostly harmless, a severe attack can actually be life-threatening. It's really important to keep a rescue inhaler with you all the time just to be on the safer side.
