Is asthma an obstructive lung disease?

My pulmonologist explained that my asthma affects how air moves in and out of my lungs. He used the term 'obstructive lung disease'. Is asthma considered an obstructive lung disease?

Yes, it is indeed an obstructive lung disease. I once had a severe flare-up that I ignored, which caused critical airway obstruction and landed me in the emergency room. Please always consult a doctor and take your preventive inhalers regularly.

Oh god, when I first read the term 'obstructive lung disease' I got so scared thinking it was permanent! But don't worry, unlike other conditions, asthma obstruction is mostly reversible with the right inhalers. We will be fine!

Yes, it is obstructive. I have tried many home remedies like inhaling steam and drinking herbal teas to open up my airways, which do give temporary comfort, but you still need your doctor's inhaler for actual relief.

Yes, it is obstructive because the swelling narrows the airways. Along with your regular inhaler, focusing on warm, light meals and avoiding cold, heavy foods can help keep your breathing clear.

Yes, it is classified as an obstructive lung disease. However, don't let that stop you from staying active; regular cardio like walking or slow jogging can really help boost your lung capacity over time.
