Is asthma an immune disorder?

My neighbour has lupus, which is an immune disorder. My son has severe asthma, and I'm always looking for connections. Is asthma considered an immune disorder?

Honestly, it is more like an over-reactive immune response in your lungs rather than a full disorder. My roommate has it, and his immune system just goes crazy whenever there is too much dust around during hostel cleaning.

It is an immune-mediated inflammatory condition of the airways, but please don't let the word 'disorder' scare you. It simply means your lungs react extra fast to dust or cold air. Use your inhalers regularly and don't stress.

Nahi bhaiya, ye koi aisi kharab bimari nahi hai. Isme bas hamare andar ki shakti dhool mitti se thoda zyada ladne lagti hai jisse saas lene me takleef hoti hai. Doctor ki dawa lijiye, sab theek rahega.

My grandmother used to suggest drinking warm pepper water to boost lung immunity, which is comforting, but clinically asthma is an immune-mediated airway inflammation. It is best to trust your pulmonologist's prescription for the actual control.

I used to wonder about this too! It's basically your immune system overreacting to external stuff like pollen, causing airway inflammation. Carrying an inhaler and avoiding sudden cold climates makes managing it super simple.
