Is asthma an illness?

My friend was diagnosed with asthma and he seems to be struggling quite a bit. I always thought it was just a respiratory issue, but is it considered a full-fledged illness? Like a chronic disease?

Yes, it is a chronic illness, but honestly, it doesn't stop me from enjoying life. I just have to avoid ice-cold drinks and heavy ice creams during winters to keep my throat and chest happy!

Yes, it is an illness of the airways. When I visited Manipal Hospital, the specialist explained how it causes swelling in the breathing tubes. Please ask your doctor clearly about a management plan that works for you.

It is classified as a chronic respiratory illness, but with proper care, you can stay super active. If your doctor allows it, light jogging or daily walking can actually help improve your lung capacity over time.

Haan na, it is a chronic illness but nothing to get scared of. Many people have it and manage it so easily with regular pumps. Bus thoda dust aur pollution se sambhalna padta hai.

Yes, it is a medical illness, but please don't let that word stress you out. It is very common and completely manageable with the right medication. Just take your inhaler, stay warm, and don't worry.

Yes, it is an illness, though at my age it just feels like another addition to the long list of body issues! But thankfully, unlike other things, this one is easily controlled with a simple daily inhaler.

Bhai, simple baat hai, yes it is a chronic respiratory illness. No need to ignore it or act like it's nothing. Just get the proper tests done, use your medicines, and you can live a perfectly normal life.

I totally get it, hearing terms like 'chronic illness' can feel quite heavy and scary. But asthma is just a condition where your lungs are extra sensitive. With a little care and doctor's support, you won't even feel like you have an illness.
