Is asthma an autoimmune disorder?

My doctor said my immune system might be overreacting with my asthma. Does this mean asthma is an autoimmune disorder? I'm trying to understand my condition better.

Actually yaar, asthma is not an autoimmune disorder. It is basically a chronic inflammatory condition of your breathing tubes. Your immune system just gets too sensitive to dust and pollution, that's all.

Nahi bhaiya, ye autoimmune bimari nahi hai. Isme bas hamari saas ki naliyo me dhool mitti se soojan aa jati hai. Aap chinta mat kariye, acche doctor ko dikha kar dawa lijiye, sab theek ho jayega.

No, clinically speaking, asthma is classified as a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways, not autoimmune. In autoimmune diseases, the body attacks its own tissues, which isn't the case here. Regular inhalers work beautifully to manage this inflammation.

It is not autoimmune, but like high BP, it is a chronic condition that requires active lifestyle management. Keeping your house free of dust and doing regular checkups with your doctor is key to keeping it under control.

It's an inflammatory condition, not autoimmune. Just like we have to monitor sugar and diet carefully in diabetes, asthma patients need to stay away from cold foods and dusty environments to prevent sudden flare-ups.

No, it's not autoimmune. I have tried many home remedies like warm ginger water and tulsi tea to ease my breathing, which help a bit with symptoms, but you still need your doctor's inhaler for the underlying airway inflammation.

Oh god, I also spent hours googling this last week and got so scared thinking it was autoimmune! Thankfully, it's not, it is just chronic airway inflammation. Let's both stop overthinking and just trust our doctors, okay?

Haan ji, let me clarify that it is not autoimmune. It is simply hyper-reactive airways. Keep your surroundings clean, avoid sudden temperature changes, and use your inhalers regularly to lead a normal life.

No, it's not classified as autoimmune. If you are experiencing symptoms, don't waste time researching online. Go straight to a pulmonologist, get a spirometry test done, and get the right controller inhaler.

I completely understand how terrifying it feels to worry if your body is fighting itself. But please breathe easy, asthma is not an autoimmune disorder. Once I realized it's just a common inflammatory issue, my anxiety dropped a lot.

It is not an autoimmune condition, so do not let your mind create unnecessary worries. Keep your thoughts positive, practice calm breathing, and let the doctor's medicine do its work to heal your lungs.

Though both involve the immune system, asthma is an inflammatory disease triggered by external allergens, not an autoimmune one. Because everyone's lungs behave differently, a doctor's personalized diagnosis and prescription are always the best way forward.
