Is asthma a reversible disease?

My friend said her asthma got much better with treatment, and she doesn't have attacks anymore. Can asthma actually go away, or can it just be managed? Is asthma a reversible disease?

Yes, the airway narrowing in asthma is typically reversible, especially with proper inhaler treatment from a doctor.

My doctor told me that asthma is characterized by reversible airway obstruction, which is different from irreversible conditions. Just like managing my diabetes with strict diet control, managing asthma requires regular care and avoiding your triggers.

Yes, the airway block is reversible, and that is a big relief. I used to cry thinking my lungs were permanently damaged, but once the doctor explained this to me, I felt so much better. It is completely manageable.

Yes, the doctor explained to us that our child's airways open back up completely after using the inhaler, so it is reversible. It doesn't cause permanent damage if you take the prescribed medicine on time.

Yes, medically speaking, asthma is characterized by reversible bronchoconstriction, unlike other permanent lung issues. This means with proper inhalers, your breathing can go completely back to normal. Just follow your doctor's protocol.
