Is ast or alt more specific to liver?

My husband recently had some liver function tests done, and his AST and ALT levels were both elevated. The doctor explained something about them, but I'm trying to remember if one is more specifically for the liver than the other.

Bhai, doctors say that ALT is more closely connected to the liver. AST is also there, but it can be found in other parts of the body like muscles too. If you have any report, please show it to a proper doctor in town, they will help you nicely.

Actually, ALT is considered more specific to the liver than AST, as AST is also present in heart and muscle tissues. If your reports show high values, don't start self-treatment or buying expensive juices. Just book a quick consult with a good local physician.

Yes, ALT is indeed more specific to our precious liver. When my liver indicators were slightly high, I focused on gentle pranayama and light, boiled food to help my system heal. Please consult a doctor to understand your reports and guide your healing path.

I was just reading about this last week! Apparently, ALT is much more specific to the liver because AST is found in other organs like your heart and skeletal muscles too. It's quite fascinating how these enzymes work, but definitely ask a doc if you're analyzing a real test report.

I totally get it, looking at these blood test terms can be so stressful and confusing. Generally, ALT is the one more specific to the liver, while AST can come from other muscles. Please don't worry too much and let a doctor take a look to guide you.

ALT is definitely the more liver-specific enzyme here. AST is found in other tissues like heart and muscle, so a rise there doesn't always mean a liver issue. Don't stress over lab reports on your own; get a quick doctor's consult and get it sorted.

In clinical practice, we look at ALT as the more specific marker for liver injury. AST can rise even after a heavy workout or muscle strain. If you are comparing your test numbers, let your doctor analyze the ratio of both to get a clear picture.

Beta, ALT is the one that directly points to liver health, while AST is also present in other parts of the body. Along with your doctor's medicine, drinking warm water and avoiding greasy food will keep your liver happy. Take good care of your health.
