Is aspartame bad for diabetics?

My doctor advised me to cut down on sugar because I'm diabetic. I've started using aspartame in my tea, but I'm not sure if it's completely safe. Is aspartame bad for diabetics in the long run?

Honestly, I had to completely cut out normal sugar last year after my HbA1c shot up. I started using aspartame drops in my morning chai, and my levels stayed totally under control. It really helped me manage the transition without missing sweets too much.

Hey, don't stress too much about this. Moderate use of diet soda or sugar-free tablets is absolutely fine and won't spike your sugar instantly. Just don't go overboard with it, focus on your overall diet and you will be completely fine!

I can only tell you what works for me as a diabetic. I have been using foods with aspartame for over three years now and my daily glucose readings have not shown any weird spikes. But everyone's body is different so you might want to observe how it suits you.

I agree with the others here. Aspartame is generally considered safe for diabetics, but just make sure you check the labels of packaged foods as they might have other carbs.

It is actually a great savior when you have sweet cravings! 🍰 I use it in my homemade sugar-free kheer and it tastes absolutely normal. Just keep an eye on the portions and enjoy your treats guilt-free!
