Is artificial sweeteners bad for diabetes?

My husband has diabetes, and he's always looking for ways to reduce his sugar intake. He often uses artificial sweeteners in his tea. I'm concerned if these are safe for him, or if artificial sweeteners are bad for diabetes patients.

I totally get it, craving sugar when you have diabetes is so hard. Artificial sweeteners don't spike your blood sugar immediately, but it is still best to use them in moderation.

I used to panic every time I used sugar substitutes, thinking I was ruining my health. It's okay to feel anxious about diet changes, but moderate use of approved sweeteners is generally considered safe by doctors.

Look, they help satisfy the sweet tooth without the sugar spike, but honestly, nothing beats real sugar. I use them in my tea occasionally just so I can save some calorie room for a real dessert later!

Simple answer: limit them. They won't raise your sugar instantly, but they keep your sweet cravings alive. Try to cut down on sweet taste overall.

They aren't directly bad, but relying on them won't solve diabetes. Focus on daily walking and strength training instead, as improving insulin sensitivity is the real game-changer.
