Is arthritis worse in cold weather?

My mother's knee pain from arthritis seems to flare up terribly during the winter months. She struggles a lot with the cold. Is it true that arthritis pain gets worse in cold weather?

I always get so anxious when winter approaches because my joints start aching immediately. It is definitely worse in the cold, but keeping a hot water bag handy really helps calm my nerves.

My grandmother always told us that damp, cold air makes joint pain worse. When I asked my doctor, he confirmed that barometric pressure changes do affect joints. Keeping warm is the best way to handle it.

Bro, yes! My joints feel so stiff during Delhi winters. It's like I need a heating coil just to get out of bed in the morning.

Yes, the cold weather makes the stiffness much worse. Please don't ignore severe winter pain thinking it is just normal cold stiffness, as it could indicate progressing joint issues. Please consult a doctor.

Living in Shimla, I faced terrible joint pain last winter. But after consulting a specialist and keeping up with my physiotherapy exercises, this season has been much more comfortable.
