Is arthritis considered a disability?

My neighbor told me her friend gets some government benefits because her arthritis is so bad. I'm wondering if my own arthritis, which sometimes prevents me from doing household chores, could be considered a disability.

In my experience with my mother, her severe osteoarthritis was definitely a disability for her because she couldn't walk or climb stairs. It really depends on how advanced the joint damage is.

I have had arthritis for 25 years. While it can restrict your movement, don't let the word 'disability' discourage you; with timely medical help, you can live a very full life.

Yes, if neglected, joint deformities can lead to permanent disability. I delayed my treatment and had severe complications, so please see a rheumatologist before it severely limits your movement.

My son has juvenile arthritis, and the school accommodates him because of his joint pain. It is recognized as a disability when it affects daily functions, so please advocate for your needs.

Yes, medically and legally, severe arthritis is considered a disability if it stops you from doing normal work. It's best to discuss your physical limitations with your doctor to get the right support.

I am new to this and a bit scared. Is severe joint pain always considered a disability, or can we stop it from getting that bad with proper medication? Please let me know.

I know reading terms like 'disability' can make you feel so anxious and scared about the future. While severe cases are classified that way, early treatment keeps most people fully functional, so please don't lose peace of mind.

Yes, severe forms are legally classified as a disability because they impact mobility. I'm always cautious about joint health, so I suggest talking to a doctor to see where you stand.

Yes, physically it can be a disability if joint range of motion drops too low. Track your mobility scores and consult your physical therapist to keep your joints functioning well.

Yes, advanced arthritis is considered a disability. Getting a government disability certificate requires proper documentation from an orthopedic board.
