I was researching different thyroid medications online, and some sources mention FDA approval. Is Armour Thyroid approved by the FDA?

Honestly, FDA approval or not, thyroid meds shouldn't stop you from working on your fitness. My trainer always says clean diet and strength training do wonders for your metabolism when you have thyroid issues. Just keep your track on point and let the doctor decide the brand.

Haan, exact approval toh nahi hai because yeh bahut purani medicine hai na. But doctors prescribe toh karte hain isko. Actually aap apne doctor se ek baar confirm kar lo, khud se tension mat liya karo faaltu mein.

Technically speaking, it's considered an unapproved marketed drug because it was around before the modern FDA review process. It is still regulated and manufactured under strict guidelines, though. If synthetic ones like levothyroxine aren't suiting you, talk to your doctor about whether this is a practical option for you.

See, with any thyroid medication, safety has to be your top priority. From what I know, Armour Thyroid doesn't have the standard FDA approval because it's grandfathered in. Please get your levels checked regularly and only take what an endocrinologist prescribes you after proper blood tests.

I totally get it, trying to figure out if these medicines are safe can be so stressful. Armour Thyroid is actually a natural desiccated thyroid hormone, and it is older than the FDA itself, so it isn't approved in the typical modern way. Please don't worry, many people do find it works better for them, but do talk to your doc once.
