Is argan oil good for dandruff?

My scalp has been very flaky and itchy lately, making my hair look dull. My hairdresser recommended trying argan oil. Can argan oil actually help with dandruff, or is it better for just hair conditioning?

Argan oil can moisturize dry scalp, but if your dandruff is due to a fungal infection, oily products might make it worse. I've learned that keeping stress levels low and managing my blood pressure actually keeps my skin and scalp much healthier. Go for a proper scalp checkup.

It is okay for dry scalp, but doesn't really cure severe fungal dandruff. Better use a proper anti-dandruff shampoo.

I had stubborn dandruff for years and tried argan oil thinking it's a miracle cure. It only helps with dryness, but doesn't kill the yeast causing the flakes. You actually need a ketoconazole shampoo twice a week to clear it up permanently.

Argan oil is rich in antioxidants and is excellent for conditioning hair strands, but it lacks specific antifungal properties needed to treat seborrheic dermatitis. It's best to consult a dermatologist who can suggest a suitable medicated lotion.

Don't worry too much, dandruff is a very common issue and easily treatable. Argan oil is great for hair texture, but don't apply too much on the scalp as it can clog pores. Just get a mild clinical shampoo and you'll see a difference in a couple of weeks.
