Is apple and peanut butter good for diabetics?

My husband has diabetes, and we're always looking for healthy snack options that won't spike his sugar. He really likes apples with peanut butter. Is this combination safe and good for diabetics, or should we avoid it because of the sugar in the apple?

Please make sure to check your blood sugar levels regularly instead of just trusting online food advice. I ignored my early diabetic symptoms and diet planning, which caused my HbA1c to shoot up. Get a regular checkup from your doctor to see what snacks suit your body.

I know how stressful it is to constantly worry if a snack will spike your sugar and harm your health. It is a very safe combination, but trying a small portion and testing your sugar after two hours will give you peace of mind.

Unsweetened peanut butter can be a bit expensive, but it lasts long and is great for keeping blood sugar stable because of the healthy fats. Plan your monthly grocery budget to include unsweetened options rather than buying cheap, sugary brands.

I have been managing type 2 diabetes for eight years. The combination of apple and peanut butter is excellent, but you must read the peanut butter label to ensure it has 'zero added sugar' and 'no hydrogenated oils'.

Don't stress too much about cutting out all snacks! Apple slices with a spoonful of sugar-free peanut butter is actually a brilliant combination because the protein and fat help slow down sugar absorption.

I can only share what works for my father who is diabetic. He eats half an apple with a tablespoon of pure peanut butter in the evening, and his sugar levels remain perfectly stable afterwards.

I totally get it, managing diabetes means constantly worrying about every single bite you take. This snack is actually highly recommended by many dieticians because it feels like a treat without causing a sudden sugar spike.
