Is appendicitis pain constant?

My younger brother has been complaining of severe stomach pain that comes and goes. Someone mentioned it could be appendicitis, but I thought that pain was usually constant and didn't stop. Is appendicitis pain always constant, or can it fluctuate?

Honestly, I haven't slept in 24 hours because of work, but if I had appendicitis pain, I doubt I would even be able to lie down. From what I know, it starts around the belly button and then just moves to the right side and stays there permanently.

Beta, appendicitis pain is very severe and usually increases continuously. In our days, we used to drink warm water with ajwain for basic stomach aches, but if the pain is on the lower right side, do not try any home remedies and go to a hospital immediately.

I was actually reading about this yesterday! It seems the pain usually starts off coming and going, but once it settles in the lower right side, it becomes constant and gets worse if you cough or walk.

Please do not trust people telling you to drink herbal teas for severe abdominal pain. Appendicitis can burst and become life-threatening, so if you have constant or worsening pain in your right lower abdomen, go get an ultrasound done.

Let's be direct: appendicitis pain doesn't just disappear with a nap. It is a steady, sharp pain in the lower right abdomen that intensifies over hours. If that's what you are feeling, go to an ER right away.

With appendicitis, the pain is constant and doing any physical activity or even light walking will feel extremely difficult. If you are experiencing this, avoid any stretching or exercise and get a medical examination immediately.

I tried taking hing water, pudina, and warm compresses for my stomach ache thinking it was gas, but nothing worked because it was actually appendicitis. Once the pain starts, it is quite continuous, so do not waste time like I did.

At my age, every backache and stomach ache feels like a major crisis, but appendicitis pain is no joke. It is usually a constant, sharp pain that makes you want to double over. If you can't even stand straight, skip the gas tablets and head to the clinic.

I manage my high BP with regular checkups and a clean lifestyle, and I've learnt that sudden severe pains should never be ignored. Appendicitis pain is typically continuous and severe, so a hospital visit is necessary to avoid complications.
