Is anaemia a symptom of cancer?

My sister has been feeling very tired and weak lately, and her doctor mentioned she might be anemic. Her mother-in-law told her it could be a very serious sign. Is anaemia ever a symptom of cancer, or is that just an old wives' tale?

Bro, chill. I had severe anaemia last year because of my bad PG diet and skipping meals. I also panicked and searched online, which scared me completely. It turned out to be a simple iron deficiency, and taking some supplements fixed me up in a couple of months.

At my age, I have seen many family members deal with low hemoglobin. Most of the time, especially in India, anaemia is simply due to a lack of iron or B12 in our daily vegetarian diets. While extreme cases require proper testing to rule out other issues, there is no need to jump to conclusions like cancer.

I ignored my low iron levels for a long time thinking it was normal fatigue, but it actually led to severe heart palpitations and other health complications later. Anaemia can sometimes be linked to internal bleeding or chronic conditions, so you must get a proper blood test and consult a doctor to find the root cause.

I have struggled with chronic anaemia for years due to heavy periods. The key is to get a complete blood count (CBC) and iron profile done first. Focus on adding iron-rich foods like spinach, beetroot, pomegranate, and vitamin C to help absorption, and let your doctor prescribe the right iron tablets.

Completely agree with others here. Just get a simple CBC blood test done first before worrying, it's usually just a basic iron deficiency.
