Is an infarction a stroke?

My uncle recently had some medical issues and the doctor used these terms. I'm trying to understand the difference because I got a bit confused. Are infarction and stroke related, ya alag alag cheez hain?

Na, infarction alag hai aur stroke alag hai, haan. Infarction matlab jab blood flow cut ho jaaye kisi organ mein, jaise heart mein toh heart attack. Stroke toh brain mein hota hai. Dono serious hain.

My child had a small infarction in their kidney due to a rare condition, and the doctors explained it's basically tissue death from lack of blood flow. A stroke is also a type of infarction, specifically in the brain. So, an infarction is a general term, and a stroke is a specific type.

While both are serious, an infarction refers to tissue death due to inadequate blood supply. A stroke is a brain infarction. So one is a broader term, the other is specific. A healthy diet can prevent blockages, but for these critical issues, medical intervention is primary.

No, an infarction is a general medical term for tissue death caused by a lack of blood supply. A stroke is specifically an infarction that occurs in the brain. So, all strokes are infarctions, but not all infarctions are strokes.
