Is alum good for tooth pain?

My husband sometimes gets really bad toothaches, especially at night. My mother-in-law suggested applying a bit of alum. Is alum actually effective and safe for relieving tooth pain?

Alum for tooth pain? Haan na, I've heard some older people say it, for some temporary relief. But for actual pain, I think best to see a dentist, ho na? Ghar ke nuskhe sometimes just mask the problem.

Dude, don't stress with home remedies for tooth pain! It might feel a little better for a bit, but it won't fix the actual issue. Just call your dentist, seriously. Tooth pain is no joke!

Listen, for tooth pain, it's really important to find out the root cause. Alum might give you a moment of relief, but it's not going to solve a cavity or infection. Please get it checked by a dentist to avoid bigger problems later.

Our grandmothers used alum for many things, it has some astringent properties. For a very minor discomfort, maybe it can help slightly. But if it's real tooth pain, means kuch toh problem hai inside. Don't delay seeing a proper doctor, beta.
