Is alcoholic hepatitis reversible?

Someone I know has been drinking heavily for years and now has alcoholic hepatitis. Can the damage from this condition actually be reversed, or is it permanent?

It's completely normal to feel worried about something like this. From what I understand, early stages of alcoholic hepatitis can often be reversed or improved significantly if you stop drinking alcohol completely. But it's not a guarantee, and it really depends on the individual case. Please speak to a doctor for a proper assessment.

Yes, to some extent it is reversible, especially in the early stages. The most crucial step is to completely stop alcohol consumption. My friend went through this, and after quitting alcohol and following doctor's advice strictly, his liver functions improved a lot. Diet and medicines are also key.

Haan, kuch hadd tak toh reversible hota hai. Especially agar shuruat mein hi pakda jaaye aur jo bhi alcohol hai, usko bilkul band kar do. Na toh fir problem badh jaati hai. Doctor ki salah zaroori hai, bina uske kuch mat karna.

Ho na, it can be reversible, especially agar time pe pata chal jaaye aur sharab band kar de toh. But not fully for everyone, it depends. Doctor ko dikhana is very important, they will guide you properly after checking all your reports. Don't try to self-diagnose from internet.

It can be reversible, yes, but it needs a lot of commitment. My uncle had liver issues, and they told him if he stopped drinking, there was a good chance of improvement. Home remedies like certain herbs can support, but they are never a replacement for proper medical treatment and quitting alcohol. Be very practical and get professional help.

Reversibility depends on how far it has progressed. Getting proper tests done early is important, though I know they can be a bit costly. Still, don't compromise. Stopping alcohol is the first and free step to reversal. Then a good doctor can make a treatment plan that suits your budget too.
